Gentle Yoga & Sound Bath: Autumn 2024

Join yoga teacher Madeleine Lohman and I as we host a gentle yoga class and sound bath! Our class together will begin with gentle movement anchored through breathwork to help us nourish our nervous system and invite in a feeling of calm. The pace will be slow and adaptations will be offered and encouraged, to make the practice accessible to all levels and all bodies.

For the second half of the class, I'll be offering a sound bath featuring monochord harmonies and crystal singing bowls, helping everyone to settle even deeper into the practice of doing less to experience more. The combination of these two modalities together is exponentially more than the sum of its parts. Bliss!

Contact madlohmanyoga@gmail.com to register. You can join us for one session, two sessions, or the complete series. Space limited to 14 participants and there are two sliding scale spots available for folks experiencing financial barriers to joining. Priority for these spots will be given to members of historically excluded groups.

Gentle Yoga & Sound Bath: Day 1

When my dear friend, yoga "that welcomes you as you are" teacher, and all around kind person, Madeleine Lohman invited me to co-host a series with her it was very to say “Yes!” I use to teach at Madeleine's former healing center and she has since started hosting classes at the Sierra 2 Center for the Arts & Community. It's a very sweet old school building and park that I'm really looking forward to spending more time in.

We are hosting a three-part series combining gentle yoga followed by a sound bath (that's my part!) and focusing on the healing rhythms of deepening winter.

Gentle Yoga & Sound Bath: Winter 2023

Join Madeleine and I as we host a gentle yoga class and sound bath. I'll be honest friends, I have a tricky time stepping into yoga classes and Madeleine is one of those special teachers who makes it easy to show up. She is kind and considered, joyfully honoring the roots of yoga, while creating a space to practice in that feels inviting and inclusive.

Our class together will begin with gentle movement anchored through breathwork to help us nourish our nervous system and invite in a feeling of calm. The pace will be slow and adaptations will be offered and encouraged, to make the practice accessible to all levels and all bodies.

The Plant Sabbat : Peppermint Class

The Plant Sabbat is an invitation to go deep into the world of traditional western herbalism’s magickal roots and modern breakthroughs through experiential study and plant-led sound journeys.

Every class will feature one plant teacher (such as Rose, Milky Oat or Mugwort) that we will get to know through spoken instruction as well as experiencing the plant through a variety of forms. Since every class is an opportunity for healing, there will be space to set intentions based on what participants have learned from our plant teacher. At the end of each class we will finish with a plant sound journey - a simple form of meditation combined with a sound bath and ingestion or application of plant medicine such as a tincture or herbal oil. During this time of immersive plant remedy and sound, students are given an opportunity to integrate what they’ve learned as well as having time to begin to build a personal relationship with the plant they’ve just met.

Sliding Scale: purchase a class ticket.
